The crux of creating such a unique vehicle lies in the transmission. The vehicle dynamics and weight distribution requirements dictate a front- mounted All Wheel Drive transmission and gearbox.
For the 2025 version of the original RS 200 layout there was no commercially available transmission. Thus for project Distomo the team engaged a specialist motorsport transmission company to design and build this unit.

Connected to the 2.0L Turbocharged Smith & Jones YB all-aluminium engine via an all-new design of transfer box and clutch bell housing.
